you are awesome - may I ask how on earth you got those seats?? wow! I had considered going to the Reading show but realized it would be a whole lot easier with the babysitting issue for our 3 kids if we picked the closest, which is Baltimore..

Hi!
We just got on TicketMaster ASAP during the Friday pre-sale! We're going to W-B and AC, too, but figured the scalp---brokers would leave little ole Reading alone---and they did!

I just wish I had been astute enough to figure they'd add a night to Newark!

Just stopping by to post my vids from last night. I had an unbelievable front row seat that I spent 4 hours on ticketmaster to get but it was worth it. The fog and lighting was different last night or maybe it was just my view, but there are times during my vids where Adam completely disappears or fades into the fog. That's never happened before. No worries if Adam disappears, he will return. :) Darla took vids too from a different angle than mine, but we haven't had time to load hers yet.

We heard that the MFB had a party for the Idols on Monday night so they were feeling a bit tired last night. They all gave unbelievable performances even without rest. Some of the best vocals I've heard from Matt and Kris. I think they pushed hard to compensate for being tired. It worked.

We also got to meet some of our fellow Adam Bombs last night which was very cool. Had tons of fun!

More later... to tired to recap right now. We are headed to Wilkes Barre tonight.

Adam's eyes are so beautiful and expressive and looked amazing in the vids.

I was at Reading last night. I was in the elevated seats but they were excellent,,..just terrific thanks to glamgirl. I also got a brief walk through backstage tour thanks to a friend with media connections in PA. But since she was unable to be there, it was partial and fast but got to see them as we went through. . I could not get pictures or autographs as it was a different kind of access and brief and very fast..but it was so cool.
( long story where they kept changing their mind about what kind of access I could have and it would be approved and denied and then finally partial and limited but still was different and cool This went on for the last 2 days up until the last minute )

It was an amazing concert. !! Matt twittered he was sick but I could not tell that. I agree that Matt and Kris are so much better in concert than on the show. They are also improving greatly as the show goes on.

Adam: there are no words, we were mesmerized.

I will write a more detailed description of my experience and the concert after some much needed and much delayed rest. But it was terrific. The fans were nice and all of the idols received loud cheers but naturally and especially Adam.

Hardly anyone but me and 2 other people stood duriing Adam's set. The elevated seating, no one stood and it was quite subdued. Floor Level was rocking and dancing and that was great to see.

My husband was so nice. If there had been a day for me to rest between Reading and Wilkes Barre, we would be going there. But my health issues mean I must absolutely have a day of rest in between. As I am in some pain and a lot of fatigue and other symptoms but it was worth it and much less severe than I expected.

If I had to do it over again, one change I would have made is to have gone to Philadelphia or Baltimore which was like 2 weeks ago ( 2 weeks to rest up ) and then to go Reading. ( actually last year, Idols tour was not in Reading but closer to me, I think Hershey though I did not go. We were hoping for Wilkes Barre and Hershey but Reading was actually much nicer than expected and still only a 2 hour drive )

OMG...Had a blast at this show!
I enjoyed the show, but to me the lighting was a little strange. It seemed a little too smokey, and at some times you couldn't really see him (and my seats were pretty good). I tried taking some photos but I ended up deleting some. Anyway, just had to come and post...
Awesome night for sure! :yahoo

May, I am glad you enjoyed the seats - I was front row right side and it was awesome! I love the venue, but noticed the smokiness also. Kinda pissed the usher kept telling our row to sit down - my view is, ya get floor seats, you stand - I never would have seen anything even being front row with the stage tall in front of me. And what about all the front center row and other side of stage? You have to tell everyone to sit down! It was great - I did notice Adam seemed a little subdued and I guess it is just from comparing him to all the other videos and I did not know they had a party the night before. But the vocals were outrageous and beautiful as usual! Met some TALC ladies - great to see the faces in person - hope you are having fun tonite and hope to see you again!

I think that Adam's WLL in Reading PA was maybe the best of the tour so far.....especially the way he sings "Woman" and the way he hangs onto the high notes right after that. Also I am always so blown away by the level of quality in your videos Laurie!!...Just read the comments posted below your videos....Your video's alone (and from other TALC members here too that post under the Adam Bomb name) are providing such excellent exposure for TALC and the Adam Bombs to the outside world! Great job ladies!! :clap ....And the idea to include the link to Adam's Charity is also a terrific idea....Your videos alone could be accounting for a significant percentage of the over-all donations to Adam's Charity....I hope Adam also catches onto that because I think he would be blown away by the quality of the Adam Bomb videos....And he would also be so touched by the link on each and every video being posted to his Charity campaign! :cheers :hearts

Thank you Jim! :kiss

My daughter Ali loads all my vids to youtube and adding the DonorsChoose.org link was her idea... she really wants to make a difference for the children.

I am so glad you all encouraged me to attend this Idol tour concert. :grouphug
Here is my story Part One:

After being on the phone for 2 or 3 days with the Marketing Director of the Sovereign Center and 19E and my media contact ( my best friend)..we headed for Reading. I will talk more of that complicated situation along with my backstage walk through partial and controlled media access later. As that is too deep and involved. :) As my best friend with the Press credentials could not attend. I went with Mr. May.

We live about 2 hours from Reading so that is an easy trip and we encountered little traffic.
It was all very smooth. My husband dropped me off next door to the arena where there was a picnic bench where I could rest while he parked the car. Parking was easy and close as there is a huge parking garage right behind the arena. The arena is downtown in this small city so there was a Pre Show rally with a local radion station going on ..right on the street with traffic closed off to that section of the street. The arena is very nice but there is no area to gather. It is basically on the corner on a busy street rght in town.

At 6, the doors opened and the line went in orderly and quietly. We meet some Adam fans but they were member of ONTD and neither blogs or posts all that much online but thehy were dedicated fans in their black and silver and sequins. I wore a black and silver long top over black topped pants and silver sequin sandals. I have a lot of bling on as well. I had a little more eye makeup than usual but at my age, I did not want to look lke a Halloween character which happens to me if I overdo it. LOL. :D We then milled around, walking around, got something to drink, used the bathrooms and went to our seats. I was pleased, they were closer than I thought even if they were not floor seats. With my health problems, lower level is best as I cannot stand for long periods of time. This was perfect...thanks again Glamgirl :clap

Then the concert started :
My impressions as this was my first concert.

Sarver: his energy and how he looks at people in the audience and connects with the audience and his energy was higher than anything I ever saw on the show. I actually found his performance entertaining.

Megan: I went to the bathroom again during her set. I could still her in the bathroom and I am sorry, I still do not like her voice. I still think Alexis Grace would have been better in that slot but she is beautiful. She is much prettier in person.

Scott: Wow he can play that piano. He seems more confident and comfortable on tour than on the show.

Lil: Pleasantly surprised. Her song choices for tour are terrific. First time I was on my feet cheering was for her on her last song.

Anoop: He did an amazing job on Always on My Mind. Anoop is great with ballads. And this is one of my favorite songs so I was on my feet after that performance. He was better than I thought and a good looking guy. He is much thinner in person than he looked on the show. But I liked how the show stylists had him dressing and looking than his own choices.

Matt: Holy cow..Matt is so much better on this tour than on the show and much better to see him in concert than on TV. NOw I know why the judges used the SAVE on him and the potential they saw.
And Matt was sick too. But I was on my feet a few times for Matt.

Group number: Ok not bad but not great.

Allison : She was quite good but I expected her to be good so no surprise there. But Mr. May who does not watch or follow Idol was impressed she is this good at this young age. And Allison is the one who looks and sounds exactly alike on the show and in person..I thought..she was the only one who sounded and looked like she does on the show.

Danny: He was a little better than I expected but he was still not as good as Matt. I was more surprised and impressed with Matt than with Danny as other contestants go.

Adam: I have no words, Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG......I was on my feet and ecstatic. :clap :yahoo

Kris: surpassed my expectations, He was great. I was impressed. He had a good night. I had lower expectations so I was pleasantly surprised.l

My biggest regret is that I was on this site much to find out what TALC members would be there or we could have arrived earlier to see you all before the concert. As after the concert and I did my little media walk through thing...we were out of there as Mr.May wanted to get on the road and get home.

The people in my Section ( 105) ..for those of you with floor seating...I was to your Right side. I was basicallhy right above Row 8 of floor seating. I counted it as about 8 rows back is where I was adjacent to in lower level seating. Wow I had a great, clear view of the stage. I was about 4 rows up in my section so my view was continually unobstructed and Terrific. But in my section , I was the one to stand up peridocially for short periods during the concert. As Mr. May said:

Quote:
You would think they were home sitting on their butts watching TV.. I wondered if they were in a coma, those people in our section. Glad to see the floor peeps were rocking it out.

So a few of the performers looked at me, clearly saw me as they looked up into the crowd. As in the stands, only about a half dozen people even stood at all , even during the end. And they did not even stand for Let's Dance for Adam, !! :thud So at one point, Adam , Michael, Anoop during their set could see me and pointed and looked straight at me. So I looked over, up and around to see if I was imagining it and lo and behold I was the one standing when requested. I did not obstruct anyone's views at these seats are very elevated and I am very short. :)

Now the other part of the story and this is complicated and it might bore the hell out of you all so I apologize.

My friend is a journalist and professional photographer. She has press credentials and media access to most events. But Idol is more complex and requires several layers of hoops to jump through and lots of time needed to gain media access going through the proper channels. My friend said it is much less complicated for all other concerts and events. The mistake we probably made is we are colloborating on a project. I am handling the behavioral research and analysis as a I am psychologist and she is handling the journalistic aspect.

I submitted the Research Request to 19E. They approved it but we never received written confirmation. We were left hanging. The marketing director of the venue contacted the promoter who said No, they will not accomodate ANY Research Requests. 19E thought my request was reasonable because I was going in the role of observer where I would not photograph the idols or the fans but stand nearby and observe but far enough away to be Fly on the Wall. Well, getting all of these entities to communicate among each other was not easy. What happened is one department would approve the request and then one would deny it. This went on for a month. One dept thought we did not need a Media Pass but instead a Meet and Greet Pass.
Another entitiy thought we needed the media pass. They could not decide the kind of pass we needed so we were told Something would be done. But the day of the concert, I got a call that we were turned down for the backstage pass. We requested media but my friend has the press credentials and it was virtualy impossible for her to get to me as she was out the area on assignment. We were then told that After Party passes and Meet and Greet Passes are almost impossible to get especially as the tour nears the end. They are deliberately keeping the number of people backstage more limited and smaller. I can understand that as the performers are quite tired as the tour winds down after almost 3 months on the road. But then my firiend and I called and said, " that is why we originally requested media access passes of some sort instead of AP passes. but we were told that is not what we needed for research." Then I got another call that said the Sponsor of the tour said the tour will not let anyone conduct research and that is their policy.

In other words, we got mixed messages and one would say yes and then no and then another dept would say yes and no. In summary, we had passes, then they declined them. Then they said OK and gave us passes and then took them back..all of this up until noon the day of the concert. We joked that it was easier for a fan to walk in , talk to someone in the bathroom who would offer them a pass..than we two ladies who submitted formal requests, proposals, and completed a ton of paperwork. :)

So what finally was decided that since I did not have press credentials and 19 E never got around to sending us a confirmation letter ..they needed something in writing..not even a phone call will do ..as the sponsor and marketing director wanted something in writing to overturn their decision....they granted me very limited media access with no camera and no standing around but a walk through backstage at the end of the concert where I could see a few fans greet the idols but move through quickly. And it was fast. But I did see a little bit of Adam and the others as I basically walked through, nodded, I had to be professiona and not a fan.

I found out they do not like people doing research and watching them or their performers or even the fans. I guess they fear that we may analyze it all too much ...not sure..

But after the Concert, Reading venue was Fast Forward..not just for me but not only did the performers do a quick after party thing, they went outside and signed at the barriers and the Buses were out of there by 11:30 PM. I remarked, " wow they are on fast forward". As we were hearing that with the AP and then the barricades, the Idols seldom got on the bus before 11:45-12. The buses were rolling at 11:30 and out of there.

Oh yes, the Good News. My friend who was unable to attend an Idol concert in PA or NJ due to a summer assignment..said that when Adam goes solo..she will go this time with her press credentials and we can finish our research..or if it is not Adam...we will be having media access to other concerts and performers this year. If she had been there and had press credentials, it would have been easier as while I am the collaborator and researcher..I do not have media credentials in hand. But it was not just our mistake, it was being told we did not need them for research and being approved August 6th for AP passes for research purposes not as fans.
Then they changed their mind 4 times in 2 days at the very end. But, I wil say the nicest and most accomodating and professional people were 19E in all of this.

May I am so glad that you were able to attend one of the concerts and that you had so much fun!....And that several of the Idols actually pointed to you in the balcony section! Sounds like you really had a great time! I'm sorry though to hear about all the stuff you went through with the marketing director of the tour and 19e in general about getting the right kind of back stage passes for your research project....At least they did give you some limitted access to the backstage meet and greet though in the end. Sounds like it was made into way to big of an ordeal though....But the concert sounded like a real blast and thats the most important part!

Thanks all. I do regret that I was so busy and then dealing with so much including my health issues that I did not read this thread. As I would have discovered who was going to be there from the Adam Bombs and met you all. I was so dumb not to do that and I regret that.

About the whole access thing, it was really nuts. As Idol gave the impression that it was not such a big deal to get passes as fans are getting these for every concert through a source. But the promoters and the venue insisted they are impossible to get UNLESS a Employee of the Tour itself gives us though. It was really nuts as according to their promoters, I am told one thing, 19 something else, the venue a whole new story.

My friend said that is why from now on for our research, she will ask for media pass or nothing. As we were shocked when the Tour personnel said we did not need Media passes, we just needed backstage pass to observe as that is all we were doing, We did not need at this point to interview or take photos. It was background research where we observe human behavior between celebs and fans. So that is why AI thought we needed AP or MG passes...where we would have better off if they just gave us Media Pass.

There is where the confusion was as it ended up they felt we did not fit any category But we knew people get After Party or Meet and Greet passes who are not getting them just from the band and performers and Idol crew. .

Coke..it was funny as I was thinking of you and how you and Pea would have cut through the red tape and helped us get our research done even if my friend could not attend. :D

We did discover getting any passes are a miracle, apparently and good luck as they made us jump through hoops and submit a long and detailed request and complete paperwork. I would not have minded if they did not keep changing and say Yes we had AP passes and then No you do not have AP, we cannot aprove it. Then OK you can have media pass. Then, no you do not need media pass, you just need MG passes. Then the next day it was that we could not observe AP from a distance and a be a fly on the wall. Then it was said we could. It is easier to gain access to government secrets. :D and get accepted for a high clearance job with the CIA..we had go through a complicated processs.
Did any of you who got passes have to complete paperwork or sign anything or did your source just vouch for you that you would not disturb other fans, the performers, and that you were not a security risk? But at least I did get to see them all up close and had limited access. I was just told I would not be seeing the idols as a fan but as a professional and a press observer attache. LOL. Then my friend and I got an email sayiing to contact them again and this time if my friends brings Press credentials, we will be granted a litttle more access.

Hi There fellow Adam Bombs!!
Macjack here;

I was at the Reading concert also. My seats were 10th row from the stage on the floor. I got my tickets through EBay. I had great seats and got some great pictures, but when Adam came out I felt I needed to be closer to him. He was absolutely AWESOME. He certainly created a stir with his introduction. My two nieces were also there but in the 200 section. They said so many people got out their cameras when Adam came on and after he finished his set the cameras went away.

I was able to see Adam close-up and got several autographs. I wasn't leaving until I did. Again, I felt I was not close enough.

Adam was amazing and I can't wait to see just him in concert. The concert seems like a dream at this point, but every time I see the concert on YouTube or look at my pictures and autographs I am reminded that I was there and saw him perform with all his SEXINESS.
