I have some others that i took yesterday but haven't shared with anyone else yet

This is a piece of art you could call it,
Wanted to envoke some thought...
I called it "reflection"
Do any of you ever feel like you blend into your surroundings,
And people might overlook,
Or not notice you?
I felt like that when i took this picture,
I wanted to stand out...




Sometimes my demons feel like they surround me,
And might swallow me whole!

I have another one i took on my b/day,
But that might be kinda...
Unsuitable for the forum...
My ex g/f wrote "Happy birthday to me" on my chest,
In lipstick

You click a button and it makes the camera take the shot...
It took me about 15 tries before i got it right

I really liked this image. The "reflection" adds a degree of separation as does the vertical line or wall that runs between the person and the rest of the scene; it evokes a feeling of apartness. OTOH, the subject does stand out, apart from his surroundings, yet the color added to him is in stark contrast to the black and white of the rest of the shot. It adds a warmth to him that is missing from the surroundings. In that respect, he is made into a sympathetic figure, the one thing in the composition that a viewer is pulled toward.

You know a lot about photography,
And i value your opinion
It was a challenge getting this piece to come out successful,
I'm glad i finally managed to pull it off,
The sentimental value in the end was definately worth the effort.

Alex, you're welcome! And I really know nothing about photography--so it's a testament to your artistry. I did stare at this picture for a long time, trying to analyze what it was that pulled me in.

I enjoy photography as art as well as most visual art, although I'm not any kind of artist myself, just an "appreciater." That particular shot just caught my eye, although I like all of them. You say it took some work to get it how you wanted it; kudos to you for persevering.

I haven't seen you posting in other threads (although I don't post everywhere, either), so welcome to TALC if you're new. I assume you're an Adam fan or you wouldn't be here!

Yes, i really enjoy Adam's music and talent as a musician.
I visit most of the threads,
But i dont post in all of them,
I just like to read what is going on in his world,
Interviews, and concert appearences, etc...

I took this pic to make a point...
A conceptual piece i guess you could say,
I wanted to show how peer pressure
Really effects our lives,
Especially when we're teens...
And then has the ability to taint our outlook,
Turning into an eventual addiction,
And is destructive to our souls in the end...
